Cheap, easy way to spruce up your kiddo’s room

Change your kiddo’s bedding on the cheap.  I just found twin flat sheets for $3 each at Walmart.  Grab two coordinating colors (there’s also a few stripes and patterned ones too).  Sew them together along both of the long ends and one of the short ends; the fourth side will be where you’ll slip the old comforter in.  The edges are already hemmed for you!  Use whatever you want (ties, snaps, buttons, velcro, etc) for closures.  Just slip his/her old comforter in and you’re ready to go.  Grab a coordinating fitted sheet and pillow case to complete the look.

Since the sheets are so cheap, you could use them as fabric to make some curtains too.  They are kind of thin, so if you want them to block much light, you’ll probably want two layers.  I think I’m going to make some with tab tops for Junior’s room, but that’s not happening today.  When I get around to it, I’ll post some pics.
